Something Random

Posted: September 19, 2010 in Life

I really don’t. If you guys have any suggestions on what I should talk about that’s interesting and pertaining which could be either Gaming and its effects or whatever thing is related to gaming, or random stuff, whatever. Post it down here so I’ll make a post.

So this post isn’t about much then since I actually have no idea what to talk about…I’ll just post about what I did today on the OILSANDS OF ALBERTA. Sound fun? Meh. Here you go:

The Alberta Oilsands is the second largest source of oil after Saudi Arabia has become what

many canadians call “Canada’s indefensible enviromental black eye”. These oilsands have open pit mines, tailing ponds that kill millions of birds, deformed fish population and poisoned rivers that eliminated the food source for the First Nations populations.

Energy plays a huge role into this because using this oil, you are able to create electricity to power houses and such as well as our cars thus because of this, canadians are able to be independant on their energy as they do not hav ethe requirement to import oil from other countries such as Saudi Arabia. Sadly, it causes problems such as deformations and pollution which isn’t safe for the environment nor for the people who require food from fish or birds like the First Nation population. It has been reported that there have been an increase in deformed fish in Lake Athabasca due to the Alberta Oilsands. People who eat fish which are now mutated may be victim of sicknesses and perhaps death. The only reason that these oilsands are able to continue is because the Earth is extremely dependant on Fossil fuels which endager the Earth to go into a point of self-destruction. Not only is this dangerous to the Canadian population but the whole world as well since fossil fuels ( such as oil) pollute the Earth.

If I were the “President of the world” and were to be able to change the world as I see fit, then the most probable and plausible solution is slowly remove fossil fuel usage from everyday lives like what they are doing right now. There isn’t anything else you could possibly do since humans are so hugely dependant on fossil fuels and multiple companies are making an enormous amount of profit thus the only way to stop fossil fuels or the Alberta Oilsands is to render oil useless so funding more hybrids, hydro-electricity, solar power, etc would likely be the only solution.

Yup.

Can’t post my signature picture so uhm Yeah.

Prop 19

Posted: September 12, 2010 in Life

I want to keep this post short but I might not be able to. It’s about Prop 19. What is it you say?

Proposition 19, also known as the Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act of 2010, is a California ballot proposition which will be on the November 2, 2010 California statewide ballot. It legalizes various marijuana-related activities, allows local governments to regulate these activities, permits local governments to impose and collect marijuana-related fees and taxes, and authorizes various criminal and civil penalties.[1] In March 2010 it qualified to be on the November statewide ballot.[2] Yes on 19 is the official advocacy group for the initiative.

As of September 2010[update], even if the proposition is passed, the sale of marijuana will remain illegal under federal law via the Controlled Substances Act.[3][4][5]”

Take from Wiki. What this means is that Marijuana and related activities will be legalized. This here is a more detailed explanation about it, ignore it if you please.

Effects of the bill

According to the State of California analysis, the bill will have the following effects.[6]

[edit] Legalization of personal marijuana-related activities

Persons age 21 and older:

  • May possess up to 1 ounce (28 g) of marijuana for personal consumption.
  • May use marijuana in a non-public place such as a residence or a public establishment licensed for on site marijuana consumption.
  • May grow marijuana at a private residence in a space of up to 25 square feet for personal use.

[edit] Local government regulation of commercial production and sale

  • Local government may authorize the retail sale of up to 1 ounce of marijuana per transaction, and regulate the hours and location of the business.
  • Local government may authorize larger amounts of marijuana for personal possession and cultivation, or for commercial cultivation, transportation, and sale.
  • Allows for the transportation of marijuana from a licensed premises in one city or county to a licensed premises in another city or county, without regard to local laws of intermediate localities to the contrary.

[edit] Imposition and collection of taxes and fees

  • Allows the collection of taxes specifically to allow local governments to raise revenue or to offset any costs associated with marijuana regulation.

[edit] Authorization of criminal and civil penalties

  • Maintains existing laws against selling drugs to a minor and driving under the influence.
  • Maintains an employer’s right to address consumption of marijuana that affects an employee’s job performance.
  • Maintain existing laws against interstate or international transportation of marijuana.
  • Any person who is licensed, permitted, or authorized to sell marijuana, who knowingly sells or gives away marijuana to someone under the age of 21 results in them being banned from owning, operating, or being employed by a licensed marijuana establishment for one year.
  • Any person who is licensed, permitted, or authorized to sell marijuana, who knowingly sells or gives away marijuana to someone older than the age of 18 but younger than 21, shall be imprisoned in county jail for up to six months and fined up to $1,000 per offense.
  • Any person who is licensed, permitted, or authorized to sell marijuana, who knowingly sells or gives away marijuana to someone age 14 to 17, shall be imprisoned in state prison for a period of three to five years.
  • Any person who is licensed, permitted, or authorized to sell marijuana, who knowingly sells or gives away marijuana to someone under the age of 14, shall be imprisoned in state prison for a period of three, five, or seven years

Right. Anyways, some of you might be like “OMG WEED KILLS!!11” It doesn’t. Most of you may know this or not but the reason weed was illegalized was that Hemp makes extremely cheap paper compared to the paper industries and because those industries wanted money and more profit thus they illegalized Weed which in turn makes hemp illegal. That is why it was illegalized, not because you can die from it.

GRANTED, it can harm your body but at an extremely slow rate compared to Beer or Tobacco. People can die but it’s because under the effects of weed they do retarded things but that in no way is it because of the weed. We can call weed the gateway to harder drugs like XTC and such. Which is why even though it will be legalized in US it doesn’t mean it’s okay to use it. It’s still a dumb idea and you shouldn’t be doing it. I haven’t even done it and I won’t for a while or maybe never.

So That’s about what my post is about. I’m neutral to this and I want to know what is going to happen after and how the people will act after this prop.

I’m not going to post any pictures or videos but instead you should read this even though it’s tl;dr format.

Thanks for reading, Danny

Just some random things I want to share:

Have fun. And no I’m not putting my sig.

It’s about time.

Hi guys, I’m going to try and keep this brief since I just got back and it’s in the morning and all so the things I’ll touch are:

Other M

Duke Nukem Forever

Professor Layton 3

Machinima

I know you guys are like, WHAT?! That’s it? Yeah that’s it. And yes it’s another blog on gaming. Why? Because I don’t have the time to write out a 120983123 word blog about something like Prop 19.

So Metroid the other M got a 8.5 on Gamespot. Looking at some things at it, my initial review was AWESOME and now? STILL AWESOME.

Yeah, doesn’t that look great? I think it does. So, there was a lot of positives and barely any negatives but if you want to read the review it’s on gamespot/Video or IGN (Not going to link the word review).

Duke Nukem. Who is he? I’ll give you thousands of videos ( Just kidding) On him:

He is a legend. And the fabled release of Duke Nukem Forever was at PAX gaming. Awww Yeahhh. He’s awesome and bad and hilarious.

That’s about it till we see more.

There’s a 3rd installment of Prof Layton guys! More puzzles for you! Huzzah. Not going to touch this too much because I actually dislike this game also there’s the 4th and 5th coming out sooner or later.

I know you think I’m getting lazy with this and guess what. I am. I’m still playing LoL by the hours so that’s still cool. ANYWAYS, the very last topic is Machinima. I’m pretty sure you know them so I won’t tell you much about it BUT you can get a CONTRACT with them since you know they are youtube partners thus get money by views. Right, so how do you get a contract? Look at their games/video list in Machinima sports, Machinima Respawn, etc. My friend got a contract when he JOKINGLY emailed them that they had no snowboarding games. He now has a contract getting 50$ per 20k views and every 1k after is 2 dollars.

So that’s about all the time I have so thank you for reading! Danny the Onion Knight,

I’m back and ready to blog!
